Turning $274 into a Success Story

Like many HVAC entrepreneurs, I started out as a technician for a local HVAC company. I quickly made a name for myself as a hard worker with excellent technical skills. After a few years, I started thinking about venturing out on my own and in 1990, I took the plunge. With just $274, I opened up shop in my garage.

I bought my first used truck for $2,000 and put a service cap on it (see photo below). I drove that truck all over town and people used to say that they see my truck(s) everywhere! I developed an image from day one by acting like a big company…and it worked!

I have steadily built McAfee Heating & Air Conditioning Co., Inc. into a regional HVAC leader with sales close to $4 million in 2009, and a staff of 28 employees. Those revenues are projected to double in the next five years.

It’s my goal to help others like me reach their goals and start succeeding in business!

In my spare time, I enjoy coaching  a junior high football team, riding my Harley and four-wheelers with the family, attending church activities and grilling out. I am also passionate about excercise (even though I love to eat), and try to keep myself mentally fit by reading motivational books. I live in Bellbrook, Ohio, with my wife Naomi, son Travis and daughter Tiffany.
